The denim edit

Denim has been fashion industry’s darling fabric for as long as I can remember. It may be because you can’t seriously think about wardrobe staples without including a denim piece or because no matter how fast trends come and go, this wonder fabric will be every bit as reliable as it always was.

A pair of jeans, a white t-shirt and crimson colored lips has become the walking image of quintessential casual chicness. But if that’s not your cup of tea, there are other ways to get the same don’t-care-ish effect. Think a feminine denim jacket with a bit of a twist and a long white shirt dress. Keeping the same color scheme and the same textures help in obtaining the overall look, and if you want to inject a healthy dose of personality into the outfit you can do so by adding your favorite accessories.

As with everything that’s been around for a while and it’s somewhat easily accessible, more often then not, we take denim for granted. But whenever you find a denim piece that makes your heart sing, think about the glory times of this fabric. Think about how in the past you were considered a proper rebel for including it in your wardrobe and celebrate that, one wear at a time.
