My first time camping | Sandalandala, Vama Veche

I woke up in London this morning, slightly confused by the lack of palm trees popping from outside my window and intrigued by the not-so-tanning-friendly temperatures. Not to mention the extra blanket that magically appeared on top of me during the night.

My three week holiday has come to an end. I visited 3 different countries – Romania, France and Spain, spent time with some of my dearest friends, made new ones, explored fantastic cities and whenever possible – took time just for myself.

This incredible journey started in Bucharest, Romania where my favorite girl took me to Sia’s concert. Two days later we were on a train to the seaside where we booked a tent in probably the best camping facility in Romania – Sandalandala, in Vama Veche. As it was my first time camping and was not so keen about sleeping bags, forever clumped clothes and non-stop music from the beach bars near by, I approached the situation with a raised eyebrow and a well packed kit.

Once I got there all my fears went out the tent window. I immediately loved the place. The welcome was warm and friendly, the people helpful, the tents beautifully arranged and surrounded by lots of trees and greenery. The place has a restaurant serving delicious food and coffee, well kept bathrooms and showers but what I think I liked the most was this sense of fellowship hovering over the entire camp.
